Mildew is a fungus, a plant or crop disease caused by fungus,
whitish coatings or sometimes discoloration on the materials like
cloth, leather, paper etc. are symptoms of infections caused by
fungus. There are two types of mildew plant disease; downy mildews or
powdery mildews. Powdery mildews grow on the shell tissues of plants,
create a gray/white coating, and finally start retrieving their
nourishment.
Downy mildews harm the fruit and vegetable plants like cucumber,
tomato, grapes, potato and other plants. Nowadays, mildew resistant
fabrics and materials have been developed. Generally, mildew is an
overgrowth of fungus in areas, which has high moisture and
temperatures such as bathrooms. Mildew looks like a very thin but an
extensive coating of many colors on surface. Mildew can grow anywhere
in extent amount. Mildews can be harmful for the health of human
beings. Professional mildew removers can suggest how to get rid of
mildew with a better approach.
People should follow some precautions, so that they can prevent
mildew to develop like controlling humidity levels, temperature,
maintaining things dry and cleaning frequently with best quality
mildew-inhabiting liquids. People should install fans, dehumidifier,
and air conditioners for better air ventilation. Doors and windows
should be in accurate position for ventilation.
Places having more humidity need more attention, try to keep low
humidity. Lower temperature also makes it easier to keep areas such as
bathroom free from mildew. Use sponge or any other spongy thing to
eliminate moisture from shower, since moisture is responsible for
mildew. Do not keep wet laundry in touch with any other surface. Try
to remove pooling of water and dishes which are wet. Cleaning
frequently everything can also stop mildew growth. Walls of bathroom,
bathtub should be rubbed regularly. Using a shower spray is also a
nice way to prevent mildew.
Some other effective ways for defining how to get rid of mildew are
described as following- hidden areas in homes should be cleaned like
floor under the bath tub, washing machine's rear, space in between
tiles and walls, and the plumbing under sinks, etc. These places are
often ignored while cleaning and they are mildew prone
places. Therefore, these places should be cleaned with special
attention, since excessive moisture can retain in these places. Strong
mildew-inhabiting agents can also be used for cleaning, but be aware,
these agents have harmful chemicals like chlorine. These agents are
harmful for children or animals. People can also use some natural
mildew-inhabiting agents, which do not have any harmful chemical.
As discussed above for the problem how to get rid of mildew there
are some precautions and approaches by which people can successfully
remove mildew from their home. Many practical suggestions have been
described, but still most effective approach for mildew prevention is
to make the use of commercial chemicals for cleaning the
homes. Chemical cleaners contain chemicals such as bleach, sodium
hypochlorite or chlorine. These chemicals destroy the fungus
responsible for mildew, but they are not good for health and the
surfaces.
Some natural cleaners are also available which are biodegradable,
eco friendly and plant based. These cleaners are as effective as
chemical cleaners are. In some critical situations, the help of
professionals is necessary because they are well trained for removing
the mildew.
